Explore the pastel-colored town of Lerici as a prelude to cruising around the islands in the surrounding Bay of La Spezia. Although a medieval castle dominates Lerici, there is much more to see, including the 13th-century Oratory of San Rocco and former Jewish quarter. The narrow streets are wonderfully atmospheric with fine shops characteristic of the Italian Riviera. In time, you will board a private boat for an enlightening cruise around the bay, which is also known as Poet’s Gulf in reference to Lerici once being a celebrated enclave for poets and writers. Lord Byron, Percy and Mary Shelley and D.H. Lawrence were all inspired by the setting. You will be treated to close-up views of the islands Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto in the bay’s westernmost part. UNESCO deemed them and the neighboring town of Portovenere a World Heritage site for their scenic and cultural value. You will discover Portovenere’s other charms during free time there.

Your 4x4 adventure begins in Sitka and takes you to a remote island, where you will ride Polaris Rangers. You’ll enjoy exploring wildflower meadows, beautiful scenery while searching for wildlife such as Alaska Brown Bear and Sitka Black Tail Deer. You’ll be greeted at the tender pier by your van driver who will take you to an aluminum landing craft for a high speed boat ride to Kruzof Island where your 4x4 ride begins. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your guides who will have your 4x4’s warmed up and ready to go. After a quick safety orientation and operating instructions, you’re ready to set off on your adventure.

Your guide leads you along an off highway vehicle trail though muskegs and forest on the way to Iris Meadows estuary where wildlife are frequently seen. Stops will be made along the way for interpretive sessions and photographic opportunities. When you arrive at the estuary you can park the 4x4 to walk around and enjoy the scenery, watch for wildlife and take photes. After a snack, it’s time to ride back and catch the boat back to Sitka.

Cruise into the sheltered waters of the Tongass Narrows looking for whales, porpoise and other Alaskan wildlife, and then pull up to a forested island to feast around a bonfire. There is no telling what you may see as the captain navigates the boat into remote coves and around forested islands. Humpback whales are often spotted and the sight is mesmerizing. Two other types of cetaceans – orcas and Dall’s porpoise – are also commonly seen. Orcas tend to travel in large groups. Dall’s porpoise can easily be identified by their distinct rooster-tail splash when traveling quickly just below the water’s surface. This wildlife safari includes a stop on secluded Annette Island for a classic Alaskan meal of reindeer-sausage hot dogs, kettle chips and Seasonal jam. Soar through a tropical forest on two exhilarating zip-lines and enjoy a meandering walk through the jungle on a nature trail with towering suspension bridges.

After departing from the pier, you will take a leisurely drive through the emerald-green countryside to the area’s only extreme adventure park. Upon arriving, you will learn how to maximize your experience during a brief orientation.

You can then participate in three different activities, each thrilling in its own way. You may begin by strolling through the jungle canopy, much of it along suspension bridges and wooden boardwalks. From this vantage point high above the jungle floor, you can expect to see splashes of colorful flowers clinging to vine-draped trees, chirping tropical birds flitting through the air, and creatures such as iguanas and lizards perched on the branches.

A more adrenaline-pumping adventure awaits you on the zip line, which involves sitting in a harness and darting through the treetops from platform to platform. It will be absolutely exhilarating as you pass over trees and through pathways cut out of the dense foliage at heart-pounding speeds. You will be treated to a literal bird’s-eye view of the gorgeous tropical landscape below so don’t blink because it will go by fast.

You’ll journey to the ancient place of Mayan pilgrimage known today as Chacchoben, also known as "The Place of Red Corn". At the pier, you’ll be greeted by a bilingual guide who will direct you to an air-conditioned bus. Onboard the bus your guide will brief you on the interesting history and unique attributes of this sacred Mayan site. Upon arrival at Chacchoben you’ll be surrounded by jungle. Your guide will escort you through the ruins, giving you a complete explanation of the sacred temples and other structures seen there.

See original red paint on the stucco walls of one of the pyramids and the temple where a mural was found showing the astronomical positions of the planet Venus. You’ll have time to climb the Gran Basamento taking you above tree level. Here archaeologists found ceremonial offerings dating to around 1000 B.C. Your guide will also explain about the wildlife and medicinal plants that are used by the modern-day descendants of the ancient Mayan people.

The fifth largest island in the United States, Chichagof lies within the limits of the 17-million-acre Tongass National Forest, America’s largest national forest. The terrain ranges from seaside estuaries to alpine mountain peaks, and you will have plenty of chances to stop and view the gorgeous scenery. With its remote location and limited accessibility, Chichagof is home to some of the animals most often associated with Alaska, including the world’s largest brown bear population, estimated to be three bears per square mile. The adventure begins with an immensely scenic boat ride of about five miles to Camp Coogan Bay and then on to a trailhead that offers easy access into the pristine wonderland of Tongass National Forest. You can expect to hike under a canopy of towering hemlock, spruce and cedar trees that shade an understory of evergreens. Along the way, the guide will point out the most interesting flora and fauna and describe their roles in the ecosystem. Observe many of Alaska’s most iconic animals by cruising the surrounding waters, visiting a center for injured birds of prey, and touring a facility for rescued bears. After boarding a deluxe catamaran at the pier, you will spend the next three hours or so viewing the indigenous wildlife in the passages and bays near Sitka. The conditions are ideal for supporting a variety of animals, and sightings are frequent wherever you look. You might gaze up to see bald eagles soaring overhead. Whales often breach the water’s surface in a magnificent display of size and power. Sea otters, sea lions and seals typically frolic near the rocky coast. You might also scan the forest edge for brown bears and black-tailed deer. A naturalist will be on board to explain the workings of this remarkable ecosystem as your skilled Captain maneuvers the vessel to provide the best-possible views. Following your viewing adventure at sea, you will drive to the nearby Alaska Raptor Center, where injured birds of prey receive medical treatment in hopes of releasing them back into the wild. A wildlife interpreter will guide you through the Bald Eagle Flight Building, and introduce you to some of the “raptors in residence” perched in outdoor habitats. Afterwards, you’ll have some time to explore the river trail and enjoy interactive exhibits. Your adventure continues with a narrated drive along a winding, coastal road to visit the Fortress of the Bear rescue facility at Silver Bay. Here, you can view and photograph brown and black bears up-close from a raised platform, and learn about an Alaskan family’s dream: offering a life-saving alternative for bears caught in conflict with their human neighbors. Snorkel one of the newest dive and snorkel destinations on the Mexican coast, Costa Maya. Once reserved for the most ardent divers, it’s now available for beginners and advanced snorkelers alike. This tour was designed to give snorkelers an easy entrance to the water while being able to see an abundance of sea life at depths of between 3 to 20 feet of water. The adventure begins at the pier when your English speaking guide escorts you to the Beach Escape Beach Club. After you have settled in, check in for your preferred tour time, which are available on an hourly basis. You’ll receive snorkel gear and be given an in-depth information and a safety briefing.

Your guide will assist you into the water until you feel comfortable. Experience the incredible array of tropical marine life such as parrot, butterfly and angel fish, and a possible glimpse of an eagle ray. After the snorkeling portion of your tour, you’ll be given free time to relax at the beach club before returning to the ship. This tour includes an open national bar, beach chairs, and kayaks. The Beach Escape is located on the boardwalk of the Fisherman’s Village so don’t miss out on walking around, checking out the sites and getting to know the locals.

Travel in small groups on this 4x4 off road adventure and spend some time with breeding pairs of Gentoo penguins. Join your mini-bus and driver guide at the Jetty Visitor Centre for a 15 minute ride to nearby Newans Farm. Here you’ll meet your 4x4 drivers, who will take you to the nearby Gentoo penguins. Experience an off road adventure and admire the scenery while learning more about the Falklands way of life.

There are approximately 200 breeding pairs of Gentoo penguins at this scenic site. Enjoy approximately 45 minutes with the penguins, before your returning off road journey.

Hike through the rainforest in Huleia National Wildlife Refuge to two spectacular waterfalls, where you may swim in the refreshing pools below. The refuge is closed to the public to protect the endangered species, but you will enjoy special access to this natural wonderland. As you follow a descending trail, the guide will describe the lush flora, which may include wild coffee, lobster claw heliconia and hau trees, the branches of which Hawaiians once used to make outrigger floats. Named for its stand of graceful bamboo, Bamboo Falls is the smaller of the cascades, while Papakolea Falls plummets down more than 60 feet. Both are breathtaking. Feel free to swim, stand under the waterfalls for a natural massage or simply relax on the rocky shore and behold nature’s beauty. Later, you will gaze out over Menehune Fish Pond, home to dozens of avian species such as the nēnē, Hawaii’s state bird.

Experience the beauty that surrounds Juneau with friendly, local guides. On the van ride to the departure point, hear about Juneau's history plus interesting information about the city. You'll be fitted with a disc brake bicycle, helmet, and water bottle and you’ll receive a safety briefing. Your first stop is by the Chapel-by-the-Lake, a lovely old log chapel with a spectacular view of Auke Lake and the Mendenhall Glacier in the background. Your ride continues to the west side of the Mendenhall Glacier, with a beach stop for a short break.

You’ll then proceed to the visitor area at the east side of Mendenhall Glacier. This portion of the ride includes a one mile trail ride through the rainforest. At the end of the ride, you'll have a chance to spend time admiring the glacier. The ride covers approximately 8.5 miles on a mostly flat road with some rolling hills. Next travel by van to Merchant’s Wharf, an old sea plane hangar in downtown Juneau and a landmark in aviation history for a taste of award winning beers from micro-breweries around Alaska.

Race through the Montes de Malaga Natural Park in a 4x4 vehicle made for exhilarating off-road adventure. On the approach to the park, you will notice that it is densely forested with Aleppo pines, which were planted throughout the surrounding Guadalmedina River basin to curb flooding from the park’s steep mountainous slopes. The pines are so plentiful that they have become synonymous with the area. As you tear through this densely forested landscape in a caravan of off-road vehicles, you can’t help but admire the natural setting. The guide will offer enlightening commentary about the flora and fauna during stops. Be sure to keep an eye out for birds of prey, as booted eagles, black kites and tawny owls are often spotted in the conifers. Later, stop at whitewashed town and continue your off-road adventure with a drink and a sampling of tapas that reflect the local Andalusian ingredients.

Enjoy a fun and exciting drive on your off-road safari jeep with wonderful views of Tortola and the surrounding islands from viewpoints that are not the typical tourist route. Your scenic drive around the island takes you through villages, on and off-roads and along coastal roadways.

Departing the cruise port, you will pass through Road Town before following a trail up to Ridge Road. There will be stops at various points for photo opportunities. Next, visit a beach and have a refreshing drink. Rinse the dust off with a swim in the sea, or relax on the white-sand beach before continuing back to the ship.

SCUBA enthusiasts - take a dive! On this two-tank reef and wreck dive, a U.S Coast Guard certified dive boat will take you along the beautiful southern shore of St. Thomas to a vibrant reef. The waters around St. Thomas support a variety of marine life. The nooks and crannies of a coral reef make excellent shelter for tropical fish and the occasional spiny lobster or moray eel. This dive, normally to a maximum depth of 60 feet, will be followed by a second, shallower dive over one of St. Thomas’ incredible shipwrecks.

Pedal a beach cruiser along the incredibly picturesque Ke Ala Hele Makalae bike path and stop at your pleasure at the eclectic shops and restaurants along the way. Although the paved coastal trail is about eight miles long, you can bike just a small segment of it or pedal much farther. Your beach cruiser has seven gears so you can easily negotiate the elevation changes. This being a self-guided adventure, you will be free to ride at your own speed and stay at the attractions until you are ready to go. A digital app will make navigation simple and clearly show the points of interest along the bike path. Or simply ask the local walkers, joggers and other bicyclists about their favorite places. Interpretive signs will describe the easy-to-access archaeological, cultural and historic sites nearby. The endless seascape may be best attraction of all, as it is spectacular the entire way.

Hike through the Alaskan wilderness and along the hillsides of Chichagof Island. Drive through the village of Hoonah, the largest Tlingit village in the world, on your way out to the Spasski River Valley. Continue through the Tongass National Forest up one of the old logging roads to the trail head. Once there, you will hike approximately two miles through private Native-owned lands, up an abandoned logging trail, to the secluded locally known viewing area. As you come to the top of the mountain, feel the serenity and see the breathtaking 360 degree views of Chichagof Island and its surrounding waterways and islands with nothing but nature all around you. Your local guide will share knowledge of the flora and fauna that inhabit the area, along with history of the land and its rich diverse culture. The opportunity to see brown bears, Sitka black tailed deer, eagles, and even humpback whales abound. Ride a bicycle around the beautiful West Bay district, stopping along the way at attractions that best characterize Grand Cayman. You will begin at Morgan’s Harbor and before long pedal down country lanes and through lovely residential neighborhoods. The winding route will become a bit more rugged as you approach Boatswain’s Bay, where phosphate mining once flourished. Other points of interest include the Cobalt Coast, which was named for the sea’s brilliant blue color, and Hell, an infernal-looking expanse of jagged black limestone that lies inland. You will also stop to sample a selection of cakes infused with locally distilled rum before traveling on to Seven Mile Beach, a crescent-shaped stretch of sand on the island’s west coast. You might lie back in a lounge chair and bask in the sun, stroll along the lengthy shoreline and take a refreshing swim in the sea. You could also dine on your own.

See film locations from Raiders of the Lost Ark. And with Indiana Jones in mind, take a leap off a rope swing for a refreshing dip in a cool mountain pool. Stop for snacks and cold drinks at a fern-shrouded waterfall and make the return trip aboard a super cool, twin-hulled, powered Hawaiian canoe.

Start your engines and hold on to your hats! Say hello to life on the open road as you journey around the island in a customized dune buggy convertible! You’ll drive on a paved road along the coastline to the southern tip of Cozumel, passing the breathtaking blues of the Caribbean and the vivid greens of the tropical jungle.

You’ll snorkel Cozumel’s crystal clear waters during this off shore beginner’s experience your whole family can enjoy. PADI certified guides will provide you with snorkeling gear, safety tips and instruction before leading you out to see the colorful tropical fish and marine life. Get ready for an intimate boating adventure through the Lynn Canal, North America’s longest and deepest fjord! You'll get extra-close to the shore while exploring hidden coves, waterfalls, beaches and abundant wildlife on this fun filled, two-hour sightseeing tour. Your knowledgeable Captain will make multiple stops for photo opportunities and wildlife sightings, while providing a colorful narrative throughout the tour. Keep your eyes open for whales, eagles, seals, sea lions, mountain goats and sea birds as you explore the rugged wilderness of this majestic fjord. On occasion the Captain will turn the engines off, allowing you to soak in the sights, sounds and smells of this pristine Alaska wilderness. Climb aboard the same type of boat used by U.S. Navy Seals and Coast Guard rescue teams. With its deep V hull surrounded by inflatable tubes this boat is designed to deliver a smooth ride in any ocean condition. You’ll be provided with a Coast Guard approved exposure suit to wear over your own clothing, which will keep you warm and dry throughout your adventure. You will also be provided hats, gloves, and goggles. Recommended but not necessary are sunglasses, and a camera. You’ll straddle the custom shock-absorbing seats as you race by the steep rock walls of this spectacular fjord. This adrenaline-packed excursion covers more of Alaska’s rugged wilderness in less time, allowing you to spend the rest of your day exploring the historic gold rush town of Skagway.

Look for wildlife while zipping along the rugged coastline in an open-air, high-speed boat. You will ride in a Rigid Hull Inflatable vessel that is 27 feet long and designed to race through the sea with maximum maneuverability. The exact route will depend on the weather conditions, but you can expect to enjoy close-up views of tidal flats and land animals such as brown bears and Sitka black-tailed deer. The seas here are also teeming with iconic Alaskan animals. You may spot humpback whales breaching the water’s surface, pods of orcas, frolicking sea otters and sleek seals. Be sure to look up, as bald eagles and puffins also make their homes in the area. Along the way, the captain will throttle back and elaborate on the importance of the waterways to the native Tlingit, many of whom still follow a traditional lifestyle around Icy Strait Point.

All tours include the digital guide, fuel, unlimited mileage, insurance, umbrellas, rain ponchos, gold panning equipment and car seats (if needed). The four-door Jeep has five seatbelts and adequate storage space for a foldable wheelchair. All passengers must be in a seatbelt. No smoking allowed in the jeep. Each party must have at least one licensed driver that is 25+ years old. There is no charge for additional drivers. Licenses can be domestic or foreign but must be on their person (copies are not accepted). The digital guide is GPS integrated to know where the guest is located along their route and will discuss the site they are going to see before they get there. It is programmed to automatically move to the next location once they leave the last site. It will also discuss Alaska's history, wildlife and ecosystem along longer drives and as the guest heads back to their ship near the end of the tour. The guest can simply select 'Next' if they want to skip a location or need to head back to the ship. Guests who go ashore do so with the understanding that they will be mixing with members of the general public.

Board a local ferry for a leisurely cruise to the charming island of Praslin, where you’ll embark on a coach ride to the lush Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve. Set off on an informative and enchanting guided tour surrounded by tropical vegetation and numerous species of exotic endemic palms, including the uncommon double coconut, or coco de mer, which bears the largest nut in the plant kingdom. Enjoy a 10 minute van ride to the takeoff site. After gearing up with layers, take a fast boat ride to the remote and protected Tatoosh Islands. Have your camera handy for the magnificent scenery and wildlife sighting opportunities on the fast and fun boat ride. Ancient cedars, spruce and western hemlock trees add to the peace and tranquility of the setting as you glide along the wild rocky shoreline. Bald eagles peer down from overhead, while seals often pop up to take a peek. You might spot a deer or mink along the shore or colorful seaweed, kelp, starfish, jellyfish and other inhabitants of the intertidal area. Other life you might see are humpback whales, sea lions and orca or maybe an eagle catching a salmon from the water! Upon arrival guides will greet you and present a thorough but quick orientation. Get into your double kayak and launch onto the water. Practice your strokes as you approach the sheltered islands, circumnavigate the Tatoosh islands. After the kayak enjoy a fresh baked cookie. No paddling experience is necessary but expect to paddle 3 miles. The tour is operated for a limited number of guests under special use permit with the US Forest Service.

Spend hours relaxing however you please at the Beach Escape Beach Club in nearby Mahahual. After a brief orientation to help you maximize the experience, you will be free to enjoy the club’s amenities, which are considerable and all offered for your enjoyment. You might stretch out on a lounge chair and bask in the sun, take a refreshing swim in the sea and gather around the thatched-roof poolside bar, which will be open for unlimited drinks the entire time. One end of the Beach Escape is typically busier and more party-oriented, while the other end by the pier is quieter, allowing you to easily find an ideal spot to make the most of your free time. If you wish to explore offshore, kayaks are available. The beach club is located right on the boardwalk at Fisherman’s Village, a great place for people-watching and dining on your own as there are plenty of restaurants.

Be among the select few to travel by canoe for an exceptional experience near the face of the majestic Mendenhall Glacier. You’ll paddle across Mendenhall Lake, navigating past icebergs, surrounded by one of the richest samplings of Alaskan wildlife you’ll find anywhere. You’ll make your trip in a traditional easy to paddle, 15 - 20 passenger Tlingit-style canoe, an exceptionally stable 28 foot watercraft, with all modern safety gear supplied. Because of the close approach to the glacier face, the U.S. Forest Service tightly controls the number of participants.

Soar over the wooded grounds of an 18th-century plantation on a series of ziplines and swim in a meandering river that offers a relaxing completely different experience. Yaaman Adventure Park is on the outskirts of Ocho Rios, but will seem like worlds away as much of its nearly 1,000 acres is covered in forest. It is an ideal setting for the course of seven ziplines that run through the tree canopy, each one presenting a uniquely exhilarating opportunity. You will race downhill at adrenaline-pumping speeds, so don’t blink because the sights will zoom by. You will enjoy a different perspective of the tropical landscape from the suspended platforms between the ziplines and while crossing over a swing bridge. OVERVIEW

Cruise through the sheltered fjord off Qaqortoq in an open boat that allows for uninterrupted views of the glacial icebergs. In the Greenlandic language, Qaqortoq means “white,” a reference to the glaciers that terminate in the area. Even so, some of the icebergs will appear blue rather than white due to light refraction and other factors. As the boat skirts along the icebergs that have calved or broken off nearby glaciers, the skipper will describe their formation, approximate age and how the arctic ice sheet has receded over the past few decades. Icebergs can be dramatically sculptural. Their sizes vary from “growlers,” which rise only about three feet above sea level, to “bergy bits,” which are medium size, to massive behemoths. On this adventure, even your drink will be chilled with iceberg ice. Be sure to keep an eye out for whales as humpbacks and minkes are often spotted in the fjords.

After a short shuttle to the beach site and after receiving some safety instructions, you’ll board your stable sit-on-top double kayaks for a fully-guided and narrated shoreline tour. Your guide will pick the best location and tour route where you’ll enjoy views of rocky coastlines, uninhabited islands and beaches. Along the way your guide will point out coastline creatures such as Bermuda long tails, egrets, herons, and various crustaceans. Following your kayak tour you’ll have the opportunity to swim and relax at the beach before your return transportation.
